Thanksgiving Feast in a Box
Our “Feast in a Box” program offers a complete ready-to-cook Thanksgiving dinner to 500 needy families (3,500 meals) each year, complete with translated preparation instructions, so they may enjoy this special meal in their own home. Distribution day is one of our favorite days of the year.

Urban Work Camp
Providing life-changing experiences for suburban youth.
Our “Urban Immersion Experience” program provides suburban youth education on the complex issues of urban poverty and food insecurity. Through sleeping on cots in our “shelter,” volunteering at our “Community Supper,” attempting to purchase healthy food at the neighborhood bodegas with an EBT/SNAP benefit card, and cooking an entire meal from the bags of groceries given to them from our “Food Pantry,” these youth are exposed to the difficult situations faced by many of the people nOURish BRIDGEPORT serves.
In 2022 alone, 50 Youth and 20 Adults from New Canaan, Brookfield, Trumbull, Fairfield and other surroundings have benefitted from new perspectives through this hands-on educational exercise.

Stratfield Sunday Farmers’ Market
Stratfield Farmers Market brings fresh produce and healthy ready-to-eat food to approximately 200 neighbors each week who live in neighborhoods with major food scarcity. Many vendors accept WIC and EBT.

Typically held May thru October, 12pm to 3pm
