nOURish BRIDGEPORT, Inc. (capitalization intentional) is a food-centered, volunteer-powered,
community anchored 501c3 bringing hope to our city through direct service programs.
Bridgeport is classified as a food desert, with 25% of residents facing daily food insecurity and inaccessibility to fresh produce. From nutritious food to language instruction, citizenship preparation, infant essentials, sustainable agriculture, and support around the holidays every program is built around dignity and access.
nOURish BRIDGEPORT provides:
- Thousands of our neighbors with groceries from our SUPER FOOD PANTRY each week
- Tons of fresh, locally-grown vegetables from the nOURish INDOOR HYDROPONIC FARM
- Hundreds of meals, each week, from our FEEL THE WARMTH MOBILE HOT MEALS
- Hundreds of our neighbors with free English, financial and computer literacy classes through our ADULT ENGLISH EDUCATION program
- Hundreds of babies with formula and diapers from our BABY CENTER each month
- Food distribution to 10+ community partner organizations through our FOOD HUB (new!)
- Fresh salads in school lunches through our FARM TO SCHOOL program partnerships with local middle and high schools

What We Do

Every day, families across our city face the realities of food insecurity. Your donation helps us continue to deliver direct support through our programs — reaching neighbors who need it most, right here in the Bridgeport Area. With your donation, we can fund the following programs:
Indoor Hydroponic Farm
Growing fresh vegetables - 365 days/year - using only water, light, and nutrients. NO DIRT. NO PESTICIDES. Making fresh produce accessible to our neighbors across the region.

Free English classes and supplemental learning programs help hundreds of adult students improve language skills, in a safe, welcoming environment. nOURish BRIDGEPORT builds practical knowledge that supports learning for work, family and everyday life.

Thanksgiving Feast In A Box
THANKSGIVING FEAST IN A BOX Offering a complete ready-to-cook meal. Distributing everything needed to prepare Thanksgiving dinner at home (even the tin foil pan!) to hundreds of neighbors each year, so they may prepare and enjoy this special meal in their own homes.
